Phoenix for Easter

Bob & Karen invited us to join them in Surprise, AZ, for Easter this year, just as their six-week stay there was drawing to to a close.

It was Rory's first time on an airplane (she did great, thanks to Daddy's iPod!), and she loved spending so much time with Grandma & Grandpa. Her only complaint was that it was too "nunny" (sunny) sometimes. She got to go exploring in the mountains, touring around Phoenix, swimming, on an Easter egg hunt, and shopping in Scottsdale. She also got to enjoy all the Goldfish crackers she could eat, so she was one happy little girl.

Here we are exploring a playground on a trip through the White Tank Mountain Regional Park.

Here she is with Daddy & Grandma in front of the Wigwam Resort.

At the Sugar Bowl soda shop in Scottsdale, Grandma & Grandpa treated her to a yummy ice cream sundae and gave her the new horsie purse that we found at a nearby gift shop.

Early Easter Celebration 2008

Because of our Arizona trip, we celebrated Easter in Gibbon on Palm Sunday this year. Thanks to everyone in the Guggisberg/Buerkle families for accommodating our schedule -- it was great that we could all be together!

March 2008 - 15 Months

Here are some random shots from the past month or so. In the first two, she's just recently realized how much she enjoys the frosting end of a cupcake.

Here she is in a cute little western dress that she got as a baby gift from the John Sweeney/Jenni Lilledahl family. She's a big fan of horses right now, and shouts 'neigh, neigh' any time she sees one on TV, in a book, in her Little People farm, etc.

Her hair's getting so long -- love the curls!

She still has a bit of a kitchen towel habit. The drawer has been babyproofed, but she can still get the first 2-3 towels from the top of the stack. She wanted to wear this cute hat/scarf set LONG after she got home from school that day.

Rory Visits the Zoo

We escaped to the toasty Tropics Trail at the Minnesota Zoo a couple of weekends ago. Rory was kind of stoic throughout the trip, although she did like the "tee-tles" (turtles). She perked up even more when we reached the end of the trail, took her out of her stroller and let her run.

14 Months

Rory took a spill in early February and ended up with a nasty shiner under her left eye. We tried to get some shots with her in a backwards baseball cap holding a mitt, but she's not so much with the sitting still these days -- this was all we could manage.
She's all about feeding her babies their bottles or putting them to sleep on rugs, placemats, dish towels...whatever she can find.

This is just a shot of her helping us clean the house one busy Saturday a couple of weeks ago. Too cute!

Valentine's Day

For Valentine's Day, we took Rory to Peg's Countryside Cafe for dinner, and then came home and opened presents.

Mmm...macaroni & cheese!

Rory reaches in to find a bear and a monkey...

...and a Sesame Street peekaboo book. She LOVES the book (especially Oscar), and has ripped off some of the pop-up hands. Packaging tape to the rescue!
