Parents of the Year

Rory's been eschewing her afternoon nap at school from time to time lately, so she occasionally falls asleep as soon as she settles down to eat dinner. Our response on this particular evening was to wait an hour or so until she woke up and then feed her copious amounts of ice cream. It can't be anything WE'RE doing, can it?

Rory Conquers Steps

Rory went to visit Will on Memorial Day and discovered how much she LOVED going up and down the steps. Now whenever she's ready to go up or down steps she announces, "BIG STEP!" (ours aren't as shallow as Eric & Allison's, which are much safer and ideal for learning!).

When she concentrates hard, the tongue comes out...

Rory @ 17 Months

These're some fun shots of Rory at play. She digs her new soccer ball, and can't wait to play with it in the yard after school -- she's totally mastered the art of throwing it backwards over her head. Tonight it started hailing just as we pulled into the driveway, and she was bummed that she couldn't go out.

Nathan's 2nd Birthday Party

It's so hard to believe he's 2 already!

Bridget's Graduation

On Mother's Day, we headed to St. Cloud to celebrate Bridget's graduation from St. Ben's. She's taken a job at Target's corporate headquarters, and will be moving to the Twin Cities next. Yay! It'll be fun to have her close by!

Rory & Jackson visit Como Zoo

Chris and Ellen were in town a few weeks ago, and we met up with them at Como Park. Most of the animals were inside because it was still unseasonably cold for April, but the kids got to see lions, tigers, and...plastic giraffes.

Busy Month = April 2008

Sorry for the lack of new photos. It's been a little nuts around here. Here are some quick shots from the last month or so.

Here she is on her way to the new Nickelodeon theme park at the Mall of America. She's still too little to ride on any of the rides, but she loved seeing the life-size statues of her Backyardigans friends...

...she still loves textiles of any size, shape or color...

...some random shots of cuteness...

...here she is attempting a pyramid of Pablos..

...and on her new trike (she pronounces it
'triiiiiiiiiiiike' - she loves the long 'i' sound)...

...and with her new pigtails...

...and spiking one pigtail with gobs of chocolate frosting.
